New Release: Yosemite After the Rain

For several years I've been hanging out with some hardcore landscape photographers. Not many of them spend much time in Yosemite. That may seem strange, but I think that's because it's just too easy -- a place tourists can see from the side of the road, and thus "off limits" to someone trying to find something new unique. What a shame! I would recommend anyone go see Yosemite National Park when the water is flowing. It is incredible to see so many huge waterfalls and if you go right after a rain, or even while it is raining, it is truly magnificent to behold. Here's a shot I took on my latest trip. I tried processing this photo in the style of Hudson River School of painting. (Yosemite was a common subject for them.) Here's one from Albert Bierstadt - do you see the influence? :)

Guilin, China. One of my favorite photo adventures, climbing to the top of this hillside and watching the sunset over this peaceful valley. (Climbing down in the dark is another story.. a little dangerous!) So much to see and do in this wonderful country. I'm proba Read more
